On 10th March 1983, Prestsea Oil Palm Plantation under the State Farms Corporation was converted into a Limited Liability Company and assumed a new name – National Oil Palm Plantation Limited (NOPL). It took over the assets and liabilities of the State Farm Corporation.
Norpalm Ghana Limited (NGL) was established in Accra, Ghana on 29th October 1998 as a vehicle to acquire the assets of NOPL and started operation in March 2000. The company is located in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region of Ghana.
Currently, NGL is jointly owned by Norpalm AS (57.21%) and African Tiger Holdings Limited (42.79%). The company is managed by a team of multi-disciplinary experts under the stewardship of the Board of Directors.
Since 2000, NGL has seen a lot of investments in both the Plantation and the Mill. NGL has a nucleus plantation of 4,300ha and processed its fresh fruits at the company’s 30tph palm oil mill. The company produces an average of 20,000mts of Crude Palm Oil and 1,800mts of Palm Kernel Oil per annum. NGL currently sells its products to downstream refiners and exporters.
In December 2016, NGL became a certified member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), an organization responsible for promoting the growth and use of sustainable oil palm products through credible global standards and engagement of stakeholders.
